Turkey Bacon and Corn Salad

For the 60-day challenge it is important I make my own lunch. Since I am too lazy to do this daily, I make it weekly. I prepare the ingredients on the weekend so that all I have to do is put it together during my lunch.

This past week, I put a spin on this quick and easy smoky ham and corn salad. Although I don’t really like salads and am picky with dressings, this one was actually tasty.

10 Reasons Why I Hate Yoga

I love working out and staying active and have tried many forms of exercise.  Out of all of them, the one I hate the most is yoga.

  1. I’m always wobbling: I would not say I am uncoordinated or lack balance, but in certain poses, I all but fall on the ground
  2. I’m a slow learner: I never get the poses quite right. Either my knees are bent when it should be straight or I’m stretching the wrong muscle. And getting better at it is a very slow progression that I just cannot commit to.
  3. The music: I am not a big fan of some of the music especially the sound of water flowing. The sound makes me thirsty or have to us the restroom.

New Rules

It’s a new year with new rules, right? Out with the old in with the new? It’s time to re-invent myself and rediscover what makes me, me…right?

I Spy With My Little Eyes....

Wet n Wild: Club Havana

I was strolling down the aisle of CVS, looking to see what was on sale when I stumbled upon Club Havana by Wet n Wild (more like it found me) and it was only $1.99. It’s a wonderful color for summer; it’s bright, vibrant and fun. I wound up using two coats, but some might be able to get away with one. I got a lot of compliments with this color, next time I’ll try to add a design.

I'd Like You to Meet...

Shea Moisture was a great find. It has truly helped me in caring for my natural hair.  Last week I went to Target to pick up a few things, and stopped by the black hair care aisle. Currently I use the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie as a staple for my twist out, so I figured I’d give the conditioner a try.

On a Hunt..

Currently I am on a hunt to find the perfect conditioner. While I was transitioning, I had a mix that worked for both my relaxed and natural hair. However since being natural, this hasn’t been the case. Ideally, I would like a conditioner that meets my requirements without the addition of ingredients.

The List
  1.  Moisturize: I want a conditioner to moisturize my hair, by wash day my hair is somewhat dry
  2. Detangle: I want something that gives my hair slip and increases the elasticity of my hair. I detangle my hair only on wash days and the conditioner makes it a lot easier

Definition of an Idiot

The other day at work, my boss asked me what the definition of an idiot was. I stared at him with a blank and confused expression, hoping I wouldn’t have to report him to HR for calling me an idiot. However, he went on to say, that an idiot is someone who keeps doing the same thing but expects a different outcome.

The more I thought about this, the more I felt this is something we all do in our lives. We complain about our lives, yet never try new things. We adopt a woe is me mindset.

Side eye with a touch of SMH

So I went to see Hangover 2....which was good, but definitely raunchier than the 1st....and a couple decided to bring there 2 year old child with them, now that’s a shame. If you have enough money to go to the movies, you have enough money to get a baby sitter. There is no excuse, they could’ve went to see Kung Fu Panda....SMH.
